The Gourmetrestaurant Reiterzimmer is Alpenhof Murnau's gastronomic venue. This award-winning restaurant is open for dinner only and reservation is required. Meals at both restaurants are accompanied by a remarkable wine list.

Wellness facilities at the Moosberg Spa include an indoor pool, sauna, tepidarium and solarium. During the Summer, there is also a heated swimming pool in the beautiful hotel garden with mountain view. The romantic lake Staffelsee offers different locations for swimming, sailing and windsurfing while outdoor pursuits in the region include hiking, mountaineering, climbing, rafting and paragliding in the scenic Bavarian Alps.

Murnau is also a short distance from the famous alpine resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Famous artists settled in Murnau in the early 20th century during the Expressionist period. Founders of the "Blauer Reiter" manifesto, Kandisky, Marc and Münter drew inspiration from Murnau's unique landscape of gentle hills, woods, moorland and romantic lakes, enhanced by the dramatic backdrop of the Alps.

The region is also a prime golf destination and Murnau is strategically located halfway between Donald Harradine's championship venues at Beuerberg and St. Eurach, both ranked amongst Europe's top courses, and the vintage layout at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. But there are more outstanding courses in the area around the lake Starnberg, all within 40km from Murnau.
