Constance Le Prince Maurice Centre de Flacq - North East Coast - Mauritius
Constance Hotels operates two exclusive properties on
the island of Mauritius, Belle Mare Plage and Le Prince Maurice, both
fifteen minutes away from each other on the north east coast. Located
on an isolated peninsula surrounded by lazy beaches and calm lagoons,
Le Prince Maurice is a unique luxury five star hotel set on its own 150
acres of unspoilt tropical land.
Reliving the past, Le Prince Maurice evokes the splendour
of the fabulous and distant "rush for spices" era and takes
its name from Prince Maurice of Orange & Nassau, a pioneer of the
trade in the Indian Ocean and first settler on the island of Mauritius.
Designed by Mauritian architect Jean-Marc Eynaud, the understated beauty,
symmetry and elegance of Le Prince Maurice strike the visitor from the
very moment he steps in. Everything is a symbiosis of contrasts exuding
a deep sensation of harmony and serenity.
Le Prince Maurice exclusive accommodation comprises a range of suites
spread harmoniously throughout the estate. Some suites are set along the
beach of fine white sand, whilst other nestle in the lush tropical vegetation,
facing the sea. Further along in the shade of mangroves, suites on stilts
overlook a natural fish reserve. Senior suites are individual bungalows
boasting their own private pool, yet all have a bedroom, lounge, terrace/balcony
and en-suite bathrooms with bath, jacuzzi and shower.
Executive Chef Jacques Ledu, coordinates the culinary efforts of Le Prince
Maurice with flair and imagination, reigning over the gastronomy. They
have recently started culinary classes at Le Prince Maurice where guests
will learn how to cook typical Mauritian dishes. The culinary traditions
and diversity of cultures of Mauritius cuisine are reflected in the hotel's
three restaurants, based on rare spices such as the precious saffron grown
locally.
The beautifully furnished Library is a haven of peace which opens onto
a luxuriant garden, where guests may enjoy a rich collection of literature,
DVD, magazines and games. The Health & Fitness Centre is the perfect
place to relax and unwind, offering an array of traditional and exotic
treatment complemented by pools, sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and the Guerlain
Institute beauty farm.
Although Le Prince Maurice has no golf course, golfers will find two outstanding
layouts at sister property Belle Mare Plage. Green fees are complimentary
for guests at Le Prince Maurice and there is a complimentary shuttle connecting
the two properties. Both courses have their own clubhouse and own practice
facilities and there is also a Golf Academy.

The Legend Course
Hugh Baiocchi (1994)
18 holes - 6,611 yds - Par 72
Venue of the Mauritius Golf Open since 1994
Designed by South African champion Hugh Baiocchi, the course flanks one
of the finest beach of the island. Its fairways wind through an indigenous
forest that was originally used to breed deer. New greens have been built
to USPGA specifications.
The Links Course
Rodney Wright & Peter Allis (2002)
18 holes - 6,518 yds - Par 71
The 2nd championship course at the resort is slightly more forgiving than
The Legend. The course has a links feel, with its exposed location and
rolling terrain. However the back nine features a lot of water and requires
more accurate approaches
