Named after the famous fort of Malacca, A'Famosa Resort
lies a short distance inland from this former Portuguese colonial town
guarding the strategic Strait of Malacca. Situated just off the North-South
Highway connecting Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, the Resort is surrounded
by rolling hills and lush countryside providing a perfect setting for
Malaysia's leading all integrated resort.
Spanning a 520-hectare site, A'Famosa Resort is a one-stop venue for business
and pleasure. It boasts an international championship golf course, Water
World, Animal World Safari, Cowboy Town, Equestrian Club, Microlight Flying
Club and a host of sports and leisure activities, as well as a Resort
Hotel, Condotel and Villas with private swimming pool. A complimentary
shuttle service runs between all the facilities at the resort.
A'Famosa Resort Hotel features over two hundred rooms, each with its own
private balcony providing splendid vistas of the resort. For families,
A'Famosa Condotel offers self contained studios, two- and three-bedroom
units with private balconies. Condotel has its own swimming pool gymnasium,
tennis and squash courts, as well as poolside café, lounge and
snack bar. The luxury A'Famosa Villas area ideal for larger groups. Ranging
from three to five bedrooms, each unit comes with fully furnished living
and dining areas, well equipped kitchen, barbecue and private swimming
pool.
Rated as one of the best golf courses in Malaysia, A'Famosa championship
facility is a combination of three nine hole courses designed by reputed
Australian architect Ross C. Watson. Named for the prolific presence of
boulder outcrops which serve both an aesthetic and strategic function,
the Rocky Nine plays outwards from the Clubhouse up to Resort's boundary
and then back to the Clubhouse. The Palm Nine is named for the great number
of coconut trees lining the fairways and features several water hazards,
including a spectacular water carry on the approach of the 5th. A'Famosa's
newest course, Crocodile Nine is named after the crocodile pit that surrounds
the peninsula green of the 7th hole! The course plays towards A'Famosa
Water World, which provides a stunning backdrop to the 4th green.
Perched on a hill offering impressive vistas of the golf course, A'Famosa
Clubhouse is a modern but traditionally styled facility offering top class
amenities and excellent Food & Beverage outlets. Other facilities
include spacious changing rooms, a well-stocked pro-shop and VIP Room.
The clubhouse also boasts as extensive range of convention and banquet
facilities that are ideal for both corporate and social events.
