Set amongst natural bushland in Perth's upscale suburb of Connolly, only five minutes from the beaches of the Sunset Coast, Joondalup Resort has gained worldwide fame for its spectacular 27-hole championship golf course. Joondalup Resort comprises of seventy beautifully appointed rooms and suites, all with a private balcony or verandah and some overlooking fairways and lakes. Exquisite food, fine wines and attentive service are offered at the Resorts Bistro 38 lounge bar and restaurant, serving an international cuisine indoor or al fresco on the terrace overlooking the pool. The traditional English-style pub Kangaroo Arms offers a choice of Australian and English beers in a cosy atmosphere. These are complemented by Café 28 near the golf course, while the Clubhouse has its own restaurant catering for Members and Guests.

Joondalup Country Club boasts an award winning championship course laid out by reputed architect Robert Trent Jones Jnr. It has won many accolades over the years including being rated Australia’s #1 Resort Golf Course by Golf Australia Magazine uninterruptedly since 2003. Country Club facilities are complemented by the David Milne Golf Academy and the Australian Institute for Golf Management.

The golf course meanders through a network of scenic quarries, dunes and lakes. Named respectively after these natural surroundings, the three nine loops start at the Clubhouse and can be played in any given combination. While the Quarry Nine provides the most spectacular layout, with some dramatic carries over a quarry, the Lake and Dune Nines are equally enticing. From some of the higher points of the Lake Nine, an open links style course, golfers are rewarded with views of the Indian Ocean. Free roaming kangaroos are also a common sight on any of the three Nines!

There is another Robert Trent Jones Jnr. course at sister club Meadow Springs Golf & Country Club, thirty minutes south of Perth in the coastal town of Mandurah. The course winds its way through undulating terrain, the layout dictated by the natural features of the land. Few holes run parallel and all are surrounded by bushland and towering 200 year old trees, providing welcome seclusion to players.
