Ilha de Comandatuba is a low rise coastal island separated from the main land by a channel and mangrove swamps. In perfect integration with the immaculate landscape, the resort facilities extend through a centennial coconut grove and comprise a main building as well as a series of bungalows disseminated under the swaying palms. Accommodation consists of apartments and suites in the main building as well as one and two-bedroom bungalows, all with air conditioning, balcony or private terrace, and five star amenities.

A gourmet tour around Ilha de Comandatuba´s several dining venues would start with an abundant buffet breakfast at Bamboo, the resort's main restaurant also serving lunch and dinner. At noon, guests can choose between the Giardino buffet restaurant, poolside Deck Bar, Beach Kiosk and the clubhouse Ocean View Bar. And to end the day, the array of possibilities range from Carambola snooker bar to Capitania wine & cocktail bar, and Channel Bar, the lively nightclub with no set closing time !

With over eighty options of activities, each day is a new thrill at Ilha de Comandatuba. There is a tennis centre, a swimming pool complex, deep sea fishing facilities and a mile sandy beach with a full range of watersports. Indoor the state-of-the-art Health Club is complemented by the Spa L'Occitane and its exclusive menu of treatments, including a special golfer programme which acts on specific tension points of the golfer's body.

Ilha de Comandatuba's Ocean Course is a unique golfing experience. Set between sea and mangrove swamps, the course was routed in an environment dominated by centennial coconut tress, sand dunes, beautiful lagoons and native vegetation. Designed by American Dan A. Blankenship, a former collaborator of Dye Designs and the busiest golf course architect in Brazil, Ilha de Comandatuba is one of the best courses in the country.

This resort course has several set of tees, generous fairways, five of them along the ocean, extensive waste bunkers, ten lakes and large undulated greens. There is no deadly rough but wide sand areas instead and the ever changing ocean breeze is an added challenge for the player. Totally integrated into the original landscape, a round at Comandatuba is as much an ecological as a golf experience, its fairways frequently visited by monkeys, foxes, anteaters and ever present exotic birds.
