Bermuda's premier hideaway resort, Cambridge Beaches
enjoys a spectacular location on a private peninsula on the western tip
of the island. Privacy and casual elegance prevail at this resort covering
thirty acres of lush gardens with five private beaches, overlooking the
the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the picturesque Mangrove Bay on the
other. Cambridge Beaches provides a perfect setting for romantic or active
holidays, with exclusive accommodation, gourmet cuisine, world class spa
and a range of activities.
Accommodation comprises of rooms, suites and private cottages, all recently
refurbished, tastefully decorated, lavishly furnished and with terrace
or balcony, most enjoying superb ocean views. For the ultimate in privacy,
the three Cottages, one of them 300 years old, offer two bedrooms and
a large living room with fireplace, ideal for families or groups of friends.
At the heart of the resort the 18th Century Club House hosts the reception
area, a library, a lounge with a fireplace where high tea is served daily,
the Port O'Call and Residents' Bars, and the award winning Tamarisk Restaurant,
where you can dine by candlelight or alfresco on the Mangrove Bay Terrace
with views of the sound. Lunch, cocktails and dinner are also available
at the water front alfresco café Breezes, right on Long Bay Beach.
Cambridge Beaches boasts a dramatic multilevel infinity pool overlooking
the sea and the award winning Ocean Spa, offering a large choice of treatments,
from classic massages to body wraps, holistic therapies, yoga classes
and the famous Sothys of Paris line of body and facials treatments. Additional
facilities include the Aquarian Baths, Fitness Centre, tennis, lawn croquet
and a choice of water sports, while The Marina offers sailing cruises
and glass bottom trips. The resort also runs a complimentary boat shuttle
to Hamilton, a 30 minute scenic ride across the beautiful Great Sound.
This shuttle only runs in season (May-October), but a scheduled ferry
is available all year from the nearby village of Somerset.
Cambridge Beaches has its own putting green and is member of every golf
club in Bermuda. The concierge desk will arrange tee tines at any club
on the island, including the private and exclusive Mid-Ocean Club. The
island is a golfer's paradise with more golf courses per square mile than
any other country in the world - nine courses are squeezed on this island
about one-third the size of Washington, DC! Lush Bermuda grass fairways,
seaside rough, turquoise waters, colourful trees and stunning vistas await
the travelling golfer. And golf in Bermuda is an all seasons affair, thanks
to the gentle subtropical climate..
